The Legend is aged for 21 years in the most expensive un-charred sherry casks. Priced between $1200-$1800 for the different types, these casks have a lifespan of only 10 years and must be shaved every 2 years to stay in use. Sherry cask whiskeys are generally the highest rated and "The Legend" is no exception. Made from un-smoked barley to give it the sweet deep finish, the original label sells for as much as $500.
The Legend is a dark amber-gold, intense and full of aromas: sherried fruit, tropical fruit, nutmeg and almonds with slight citrus notes at the end, all held together with a vanilla sweet smokiness. This full-bodied rich and rounded single malt develops slowly into fruity, smoky and spicy flavors. The finish is long-lasting, smooth and smokey, with a chocolate feel at the back of your throat.
An incredibly rounded whisky that leaves you refreshed and contented, only 1800 bottles of The Legend are made each year so it is in very limited supply.
